We are pleased to announce that Elisa Leighton has joined the Gausnell, O’Keefe & Thomas team!

She is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan Saint Louis, Young Lawyers Division, Women in the Legal Profession, and the Lawyers Association of St. Louis.

She grew up in Hazelwood, Missouri, and graduated from Lindenwood University with University Honors. Recognized by Phi Alpha Theta for her achievements in History, she was awarded the David R. Williams Award for the highest achievements and grades in Political Science. Upon graduation, she wore six cords and two tassels on her graduation cap to represent double majors. She attended law school at Washington and Lee University and worked in the Community Legal Practice Clinic with five other students approved to do their practical experience work with her. Elisa recalls that Professor Belmont was a terrific mentor for her during that year and taught her how to be a lawyer and dominate a courtroom.

When she is not at work, she reads anything from books and comics to manga.

Elisa is an active member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of 1812, serving as an officer and chairperson in these organizations to better her community.

We are proud to welcome Elisa to the firm!
