We are pleased to announce the hiring of our newest associate, Najla Hasic.

Najla grew up in St. Louis after moving here at the age of one from Bosnia. She obtained her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law graduating Magna Cum Laude. Prior to law school, she graduated with Departmental Honors from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies. While attending Webster, she studied abroad in Vienna Austria, where she had the opportunity to travel to ten different countries. Najla’s article “An Invasion of Privacy: Genetic Testing in an Age of Unlimited Access” was published in the SIU Law Journal. She also helped Justice Oagila Bethuel Key Dingake (Justice of the Supreme and National Court of Papua New Guinea) publish an article called “Appointment of Judges and the Threat to Judicial Independence: Case Studies from Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, and Kenya.”

Prior to joining Gausnell, O’Keefe & Thomas, Najla was an attorney with the Federal Court of appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

In her spare time, she likes to read (her favorite book is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini), hiking, traveling, and baking.

Welcome to the firm, Najla!
