As of January, 2022, Gausnell, O’Keefe and Thomas relocated to our permanent home at 1717 Park Avenue in Historic Lafayette Square, blocks off of the scenic Route 66’s path just south of downtown St. Louis. Originally built in 1885 as a livery stable, the brick two story offers a modern office setting in a beautiful, cozy and pedestrian friendly location. Lafayette Park, a 30 acre green space is only blocks away, and the community is surrounded by 150 year old restored and renovated Victorian homes.
The Lafayette Square neighborhood only one mile south of downtown is one of St. Louis’ oldest, and is a designated National Historic District. Lafayette Park is one of the oldest and most beautiful, Victorian-era parks in the United States. Named in honor of Marquis de Lafayette, (the French Aristocrat and military officer who fought in the American Revolutionary War), the area surrounding the park flourished after the late 1800s and became one of St. Louis’ most fashionable neighborhoods, known for its magnificent Victorian residences.
The building itself served as a livery and grocery store for a time, then as a transportation hub, operating several trucking, hauling and transportation businesses. In the early 2000s, it was completely renovated, and converted into an office space suitable for a law firm. We put a few personal touches on the space before we moved in, and have created a warm, collaborative and homey feel for our staff and lawyers.
This move is a testament to our commitment to this community, our growth over the last three years and creation of a law firm with vision, strength and integrity in everything we do. We would love to give you a tour!
